Visually Impaired Violinist Touches Hearts of Many at Closing Ceremony of Beijing Winter Paralympics

Ma Yifei, a 16-year-old visually impaired girl, touched the hearts of many with her performance at the closing ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.

While talking to Xinhua, Ma said, she felt excited and happy to be able to perform at the closing ceremony.

Ma lost her eyesight at 2 due to an illness. She started to learn to play the piano at five and the violin at nine, putting in lots of hard work.

She is a sophomore in Ningxia Special Education High School in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Aspiring to go to college and continue to study music, Ma wants to pass on the warmth she feels through music to more people.
