Stepping up for teens with special needs

June Chen Hong Kong's bosses should not shy away from hiring youngsters with special needs as disabled workers have proven to be as good and sometimes better at work than their able-bodied peers, educators and experts say.
This untapped talent pool of young and old workers can also ease the manpower crunch in the city, they add.
Studies have shown that people with special needs are on average more productive, take leave less often and are more loyal to their employers. They can also offer fresh perspectives when it comes to solving problems. Many autistic people, for example, are better at pattern recognition and mathematics
