Sidewalks, buses, and taxis still present obstacles to accessibility for disabled individuals

Several association leaders recognise that accessibility in Macau has improved significantly, but there are still numerous obstacles on sidewalks and public transport for people with disabilities.


Regarding Global Accessibility Awareness Day, which is celebrated on May 16, Fernando Carvalho said that he only entered primary school at the age of nine. At the age of one and a half, he was diagnosed with polio and ended up being “rejected from a public school because he was disabled,” he recalled.
