Protecting Rights: Blind and visually-impaired people in China enjoy better library services

China's Disabled Person's Federation reports over 17 million blind and low-vision individuals in the country. In recent years, efforts have focused on upholding their rights, including through libraries that better cater to their needs. Hu Chao talks to visually-impaired readers at one such facility in north China's Shanxi Province.

This is Wu Dongbing, a regular at the Shanxi Provincial Library's reading room for visually-impaired people in Taiyuan.

Despite losing his sight a dozen years ago, Wu has worked hard to learn Braille.
