Young minds, big ideas: meet five laureates of the AIA Scholarships programme, which was founded on the belief that education can open doors not only for individuals, but for the communities they will one day serve.

Selina Wong Yuen-shan’s journey into traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was a slow burn. She was always interested in the human body and had a desire to help, but her passion for TCM grew later, influenced by family members and first-hand experiences.

In 2022, when Wong’s older sister, who also studied Chinese medicine, needed a practice subject for an acupuncture module, she turned to her younger sibling for help. Witnessing the precision of placing the needles into the body, the logic guiding them and the idea that physical pain or internal imbalances could be relieved through invisible energy pathways captivated her.
