Forum explores integration of copyright protection with accessible reading services

A forum exploring ways to integrate copyright protection with accessible reading services opened on Monday in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, aiming to make reading rights more inclusive and support the high-quality development of China's reading initiatives.

The forum, organized by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the China Disabled Persons' Federation, stressed that protecting the reading rights of people with disabilities is key to the people-centered development philosophy, cultural inclusion, and the advancement of fairness and justice.

A nationwide regulation to promote reading among the public, which took effect in February, was highlighted during the forum. It focuses on balanced reading development and protecting the rights of key groups, making special provisions for accessible reading and the reading rights of people with disabilities.
